You remember Duck Dynasty right? That A&E show based around the Robertson family and their hunting equipment company Duck Commander. Seems like during the shows run (2012-2017), It was hard to go anywhere and not see something with the logo or star's faces on it. So it should come to no surprise that the family who milked every ounce of royalties they possibly could from everything they possibly could, would put out a Christmas album.
Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas was released on November 5th, 2013 it featured various members of the family singing some classics such as Uncle Si singing "You're A Mean One Mr Grinch" and Sadie Robertson tackling "Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer" and "Away In The Manger". For the most part this was a very typical Christmas Album Cash Grab Album. However with a few exceptions, and that is what this post is actually about. See I actually really enjoy this album and bought a CD copy just days after it came out way back in 2013.
Duck The Halls
As the title track, the entire Robertson family comes together to sing the beloved classic "Deck The Halls". So what the Duck, why did they misspell the title? Well we are talking about the family who made famous by duck calls, in full Kazoo fashion the family used the calls as an instrument on the track for a pretty fun rendition of the classic song.
Rajin' Cajun Redneck Christmas
In the land of novelty Christmas music, you sometimes find one that shouldn't work but just does. This song is everything a Country dance song should be a catchy tune, a hook that is easy to grasp. Most importantly its just really fun to listen to year round.
This last song, is not a novelty song. Reed Robertson takes us on a serious side note as he covers a Rodney Carringron song about something that hits hundreds if not thousands of families every year. We are thankful for their loved ones who chose to serve the nation and miss out on precious holidays to ensure we have the freedom and safety to celebrate each year. This song will tug at your heart strings and honestly I wish it was granted more air time then it does.
Camouflage and Christmas Lights

Told from the perspective of a father who is currently deployed and is attempting to make the best of his Christmas away from his kids, who he is currently working so hard to protect from the front line of war.
At the end of the day, yes this was another cash grap attempt made by the Robertson family at the height of their popularity. I think it was an honorable attempt though, one that the can be proud of and one that may outlast even the reruns of the show that started it all.
